Senior Games & Silver Arts

Rockingham County Senior Games & SilverArts is looking forward to another season of great games and competition! Information and registration for the 2024 games can be found at your local Rockingham County Senior Center.  For more information, please call (336) 548-2789 or email the Rockingham County Senior Games Coordinator, Adriene Heffner | aheffnermmrec@gmail.com

The Rockingham County Senior Games (RCSG) began in 1996 as an annual Olympic-style event that promoted year-round mental and physical health.  Today it is much more than that!  The RCSG relies on participation from Rockingham, Stokes, and Caswell County residents age 50 or better who enjoy healthy competition, and a fun, creative and social atmosphere. Our continued success can be attributed to our wonderful and dedicated Ambassadors, volunteers, and staff.  In addition, we greatly rely on the generosity of our sponsors, and the City of Reidsville, the City of Eden and the Towns of Madison and Mayodan to operate our games.

The events are held in April and May each year.  All events take place in and around Rockingham County.  Individuals compete for awards within their own gender and age categories:  50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+. Typically, the top three winners (medalists) in each event by age and gender are eligible to compete in the North Carolina Senior Games (NCSG), State Finals, each fall.  Medalists from the NCSG State Finals are eligible to compete in the National Senior Games that occur every two years.

We hope you can join participants in 53 Local Games that serve all 100 counties across the state of North Carolina each Spring.  North Carolina Senior Games began in 1983 with a vision to create a year-round health promotion and wellness education program for adults 50 years of age and better.  Participants can compete in sports and arts categories.  Senior Games is a holistic approach to keeping the body, mind and spirit fit while enjoying the company of friends, family, and volunteers.
